Hydrant Flushing to Begin Today

The Municipal Authority says residents of Southampton may notice a short duration of reduced water pressure and possible discoloration in the water while the hydrants in the area are being flushed.

The will begin flushing fire hydrants throughout the region on Monday, Oct. 31.

They advise customers to refrain from using water for drinking, cooking or clothes washing while flushing is in progress. 

The flushing of fire hydrants will take place according to the following schudule,  between 8:30 a.m and 3:30 p.m.

MONDAY – 10-31: Street Road, Stump Road to Gravel Hill Road (Huntingdon Brook, Gravel Hill Station, Gravel Hill Townhouses, Whitebriar, Trowbridge). Also Burgundy Hills, Casey Village, Stonehurst and Hampton Farms.

TUESDAY- 11-1:  Industrial Highway Area, South of Street Road from Gravel Hill Road to Knowles Avenue; Dorchester Apartments and Steamboat Station. The remainder of Casey Village, Burgundy Hills, and Willopenn -East of Authority Drive.

WEDNESDAY- 11-2:  Second Street Pike from Street Road to James Way, plus Knowles Avenue and Gravel Hill Road, North of Street Road (Southampton Hills, Beagle Run and Gravel Hill Farms). Remainder of Burgundy Hills, Hampton Farms and Second Street Pike from Maple Avenue to Bristol Road, South of Buckstone.

THURSDAY – 11-3:  Buck Ridge Meadows, Buck Hill Estate and the remainder of Gravel Hill Farms. Willopenn (Willowbrook), Grove, Williams, and Pennsylvania Avenues. Med-o-Wood, Miller Drive, Lynch Drive, Woodgate, Stahl Road and Harding Road (South of Maple).

FRIDAY – 11-4:  Valley Hill Estates, Churchville Road Area, Casey Park, and Plum Street, Hamptontown, and Cameron through Princeton.

MONDAY – 11-7: Cherry Lane, Cybus Way, and Redwood, Second Street Pike from Cherry Lane to Street Road, Belmont Station, Hampton Crossing, Jefferson Hills, Bonnie Brae Drive, and Glen Echo Road. Second Street Pike to County Line Road.

TUESDAY – 11-8:  James Way, Jaymor and New Road, Huntingdon Hollow, Buckstone.

WEDNESDAY – 11-9:  Southampton Estates, Toll Road, Kingsclere, and Springwood Area. Creek View, Charles Street, and Rick Road Areas.
