Parks & Rec Proposes Playground for Veterans' Field

Members of the Upper Southampton Parks and Recreation Board will present its proposal for a new playground at Veterans' Field to township supervisors Tuesday evening.

The Upper Southampton Park and Recreation Board has been busy hammering out the details of the playground for months, and now the last step is to seek the approval of the township's board of supervisors.

"We have to have any large purchase approved by the board," said Park and Recreation Board Chairperson . "They have to approve the bill."

If all goes according to plan, the playground will be placed to the left of the at the field, between the building and the parking lot.

The playground will feature two sets of swings, a suspension bridge and multiple sets of steps, slides and tubes.

"It's a little bigger than the playground at , and it has more slides," said Myers.

The materials for the playground will be provided by Miracle Recreation Equipment Company, for nearly $34,000, and Buzz Burger, Inc. will install the playground equipment for approximately $13,000. The total cost of the playground is projected to be just under $47,000. 

The playground proposal is listed as a topic of discussion on the agenda for tonight's board of supervisors meeting.

The meeting will take place in the township meeting room, located in the basement of the , at 7:30 p.m.
