Months after the new recycling program was enacted, a video has been released to show residents how the process works.

Members of the Southwestern Bucks Solid Waste Committee (SBSWC) are featured in a video recently posted on YouTube that shows how .

The and has been met with success, Upper Southampton Township Manager Joseph Golden told Patch in December.

The program made it so residents could put all plastic products labeled one through seven, aluminum, steel, cardboard, pressed paperboard and paper into one container, instead of separating it into three or four containers.

In recent weeks, all households were provided with a green 64-gallon recycling can. by waste-hauler from two times a week to one starting in May.

The large cans were provided to residents in Northampton, Lower and Upper Southampton - the towns that that make up the Southwestern Bucks Solid Waste Committee - in hopes that it would increase recycling, which is cheaper to haul and has many positive benefits for the planet, former Northampton supervisor and SBSWC member Vincent Deon .

The township website features a comprehensive guide on single-stream recycling and the new trash contract.
