Weather Service Issues Flood Watch

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for parts Southeastern Pennsylvania., including Southampton. The Flood watch is in effect until midnight Tuesday.

The weather service expects heavier rain to fall through the evening and says poor drainage and roadway flooding should be expected. Minor Creek Flooding and smaller river flooding is also possible.

The weather service recommends the following precautionary/preparedness actions: monitor forecasts, be alert for potential flood warnings and those who live in areas prone to flooding should be ready to action should flooding develop. 

Here's a look at the National Weather Service's extended forecast:

Tonight: Rain, mainly before 11pm. Low around 40. East wind 13 to 15 mph becoming west. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. 

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 44. Breezy, with a west wind between 14 and 24 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. 

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 24. Breezy, with a west wind between 10 and 20 mph. 

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 41. West wind between 7 and 9 mph. 

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36. Southwest wind around 6 mph. 

Friday: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 52. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 46. 

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 32. 

New Year's Day: Partly sunny, with a high near 49.
