BCCC Hosting Free Events as Part of Annual Arts Celebration
Bucks County Community College is hosting several free events as part of its Arts at Bucks celebration.
Enjoy free concerts, demonstrations, exhibitions and more in a series of upcoming events that are part of ’s Arts at Bucks Celebration.
On Sunday, the college’s Department of the Arts will have an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. The event will feature free demonstrations, gallery receptions, studio workshops and more. Demonstrations include woodturning, glassblowing, and a bronze foundry pour.
Also on Sunday, an awards ceremony for the Annual Student Exhibition takes place in the Hicks Arts Center Gallery at 2 p.m. That show is open until May 8. Admission is free. For gallery hours, visit www.bucks.edu/gallery.

According to the college, the Student Art Exhibition is a showcase of the best work made by students in the Department of the Arts including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, digital media, two-dimensional design, three-dimensional design, sculpture, fine woodworking, ceramics, jewelry, glass, web design and more.
“Tree to Form,” an interactive exhibition in Artmobile, the college’s traveling outreach museum, is on display adjacent to the Hicks Art Center Gallery. Artmobile is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday and 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday For more information, visit www.bucks.edu/artmobile.

Professor Doug Rosentrater’s Oral Interpretation class performs free for the public at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, May 1 and 3, at 9:30 a.m. in Penn Hall room 253. The class will be presenting their final oral interpretation projects, under the assistance of adjunct faculty member J. Cooper Robb.
On Friday, May 4, Mystery Science Theater 3000 creator Joel Hodgson presents “Trout Mask Revisited,” a free two-hour live “movie riffing” demonstration from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Gateway Auditorium. A student film festival follows at 6 p.m. Both events are free.
At 8 p.m. Friday, May 4, and again at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 5, “The Games within the Games,” a comedy improv competition directed by Bill McLaughlin, takes place in the Gateway Auditorium. Admission is $7.
Other Arts at Bucks events include free student music concerts.
