Cost of High School Construction Grows Again

If all goes according to plan, the Wililam Tennent High School construction and renovation project will go nearly $4 million over budget at Tuesday's school board meeting.

The Centennial School Board of Directors will meet Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. in the board meeting room of the Johnsville Administration Building, 433 Centennial Road, in Warminster.

Some notable items from the meeting agenda:

  • Approval of approximately $180,000 worth of change orders for the high school renovation and construction process. The approval of these most recent change orders will bring the project to approximately $4 million dollars over the original budget.
  • Authorization of the execution of a contract for Barbara Burke-Stevenson  to perfom consulting services at William Tennent High School from January 3, 2012 to a date "to be determined" at the compensation rate of $675.00 per day.
  • Authorization of the execution of a contract between F. David Yates to perform school administration consulting services at Klinger Middle School from January 23, 2012 to March 1, 2012, at the compensation rate of $450.00 per day.

Can't make the meeting? As always, the district invites those who are unable to attend to watch the proceedings broadcast live on public access television or over the Internet via the district’s website.
