Whiz Kid features a local kid who has done something remarkable, whether at school, church or in the neighborhood. We want to hear about these amazing children and teens, and we'll feature them on Patch. This week's Whiz Kid is a seventh grader at Abington Friends School.
- Whiz Kid Kara Brownlie, 12
- Abington Friends School
- Accomplishment: Kara, a seventh grader, had the opportunity to play in a scrimmage game with the Varsity soccer team.
- Key to Awesomeness: Kara has played soccer since she was 6 years old, juggling that with studying karate, playing field hockey and softball and, of course, focusing on school. She was invited to preseason training with several other middle school players, according to Coach Bill O'Neill, and the girls who attend the training receive some field time during a scrimmage. O'Neill said that Kara is "eager to learn the game and is a hard working young soccer player." She'll be playing with Abington Friends middle school soccer team this fall.
