Race day is still months away, but the annual Broad Street Run lottery opens in just over two weeks, race officials announced Wednesday.

A two-week lottery registration window for the 10-mile race, considered the fastest and largest of its kind in the country, opens at 10 a.m. on Feb. 1, officials said, and will close at 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 13.

It's the second year the Broad Street Run has used a lottery, after 2012's disastrous registration process saw the entire race sell out in a matter of hours, amid server crashes and numerous complaints.

Last year, just over 32,000 people finished the race, down slightly from the year before, when just over 34,000 finished.

This year's race will go off at 8:30 a.m. on May 4, running from Philadelphia's Olney section down to the Navy Yard.
