Read Books, Win Prizes at Southampton Library

Participants of the Southampton Library's "Ground Breaking Reads" summer program may win a Samsung Galaxy 2 7' Tablet.

The Southampton Free Library has a summer reading program that’s specifically designed with adults in mind.

“Why should kids have all the fun?” Kim Ingram, Upper Southampton Free Library director, said.

According to Ingram, the Southampton Library has recently promoted a summer reading program for its adult patrons, as it was initiated four years ago. It has become popular among library patrons, as such patrons often have their children participate in the popular and established youth summer reading program.

“We figured that we do such a great program for the kids, we’d like to do something for the adults,” Ingram said. “It’s something fun for the summer, and you can read anything.”

The summer reading program encourages library patrons, 18 and over, to read by rewarding them for the books or eBooks they check out of the library.
