If you've noticed an abundance of pinwheels around Bucks County recently, there's a reason.
Local volunteers with the Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center have "planted" pinwheel gardens to raise awareness of child abuse during National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The Pinwheels for Prevention Campaign will remain in place until the end of April.
Pinwheel gardens have been installed at three sites Bucks County, including Bensalem, Warminster and Quakertown. The pinwheel gardens are sponsored by local organizations and businesses.
The pinwheel gardens can be found at the following locations:
Bucks County Visitors Center 3207 Street Rd, Bensalem Sponsored by Parx Casino and TD Bank
Hartsville Fire Company 1195 York Rd, Warminster Sponsored by the Zubaida Foundation
United Friends School 1018 W Broad St, Quakertown Sponsored by NOVA Thrift Shop
“We are focusing on the positive changes in our communities and what people can do to protect our children,” said Leslie Slingsby, director of the Bucks County CAC. “So we are saluting the 886 instances in 2013 of caring adults and incredibly brave children who took a loving and courageous step to report abuse.”
