Since 1980, the Upper Southampton Municipal Authority has been located in a small, square building, directly behind the township's municipal complex.
Upper Southampton Township, unlike many of the surrounding boroughs and townships, provides and maintains its own public water and sewer services. However, the municipal authority was created as an "independent enterprise fund," and, as such, operates separately and distinctly from the township.
The municipal authority sets and maintains its own budget, supported by the revenue generated from water and sewer services, and does not rely on any funds from the township's budget.
