The Southampton Friends began meeting in 1941, with informal gatherings in members' homes.  A monthly meeting wasMore officially established in 1947, and the present meetinghouse,  at the corner of Gravel Hill and Street Roads, was built in 1969.

The Community Center complex is tucked in the midst of a residential development just off of Willow Road. The center,More formerly known as the Southampton Youth Center, has baseball and softball fields, a gymnasium, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, a hockey pad, a playground, a concession stand and picnic tables. There is also a meeting room, which is available for rental.

A bridge group, who welcomes new players, meets every Tuesday and Thursday in the meeting room, and Kiwanis of Southampton sponsors Bingo in the meeting room every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Both of these events take place between 1pm and 3pm.
