Gas prices in every state—except Idaho—have seen another decrease since last week, according to AAA’s fuel report. In Pennsylvania, the average for a gallon of self-serve regular is $3.552 per gallon down 5.4 cents from a week ago. U.S. gasoline prices in April have continued to fall, the reports states, not just because of weak demand, but oil prices have also moved sharply lower. In Bucks and Montgomery, the average price for a gallon is $3.525 per gallon, which is down 4.7 cents from a week ago, 16 cents lower than a month ago and 45.4 cents lower than a year ago. The national average price of gasoline decreased during March for the first time in 10 years, and gas prices now average more than 30 cents per gallon less than a year ago, according to a report from AAA. This spring, the national average should remain less expensive than last year’s prices. Last year, gasoline prices peaked in April, so this year’s decrease throughout March is unusual. “It is very unusual for gas prices to decline in early spring like we have seen this year,” said Jana L. Tidwell, Public Affairs Specialist for AAA Mid-Atlantic. “An increase in refinery production and lower oil prices in early March have combined to provide rare falling prices for motorists in comparison to recent years.” AAA predicts gasoline prices …

As Easter approaches, gas is at a 3-year low. Find the cheapest gas in Southampton.
March has seen a steady decline in gas prices to the point that gas is cheaper now than last year. AAA continues to predict that the national average will crest lower than recent years as we head deeper into spring, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. In 2011 the national average for regular unleaded peaked at $3.98 on May 5. In 2012 the price peaked at $3.94 on April 5. The national average this week is $3.658 for a gallon, down 3.4 cents from last week. The Pennsylvania average retail price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline is $3.673, down 2.5 cents from a week ago. AAA reports that it is still too soon to say whether retail prices have already peaked for the spring because there is still refinery maintenance to be completed …

Drivers in every state are paying more at the pump than a month ago; however, Pennsylvania drivers are beginning to get some relief, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. Gas prices in the state have dropped 3.4 cents from a week ago and 3.5 cents in Bucks and Montgomery Counties. With “spot” gasoline prices (gasoline sold for immediate payment and delivery) also dropping dramatically across the country, it is likely that retail prices will continue to fall in the coming days, the report states. These recent declines and the fact that the national retail average has fallen below the year-ago price supports AAA’s prediction that gas prices will peak this spring at a lower level than recent years. Locally, the average price for a gallon of …

In the last month, gas prices have jumped about 30 cents in Bucks and Montgomery, but this last week saw little change, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. The surge in gasoline prices has been driven somewhat by rising crude oil prices but more directly because of refinery maintenance issues. This has meant less gasoline being produced and fewer supplies, which has pushed prices higher. Locally, the average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Bucks and Montgomery is $3.779, up .7 cents since last week, 30.5 cents higher than a month ago and 4.5 cents higher than a year ago. In Pennsylvania, the average price of self-serve gasoline is now $3.799 per gallon, up 2.6 cents since last week. Nearby, the cheapest price for …

It's best to stay off the roads during snowfall, but if you must go out, try to follow these guidelines.
Just after 3 p.m. on Friday, snow began hitting the Philadelphia region, starting what the Weather Channel has dubbed "Winter Storm Khan." Khan is projected to deposit about one to two inches of snow in the Bucks-Montgomery County region, possibly reaching three inches in some areas. The continued cold weather will also create icy conditions tomorrow, making road travel problematic. Earlier today, AAA Mid-Atlantic sent out a press relase with some safe driving tips that motorists would be wise to follow during cold and snowy weather. They include:

The average price of self-serve regular gas in Bucks and Montgomery Counties rose about 2.1 cents since last week, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. That is still 13.3 cents lower than last month but 12.6 cents higher than last year. The price per gallon nationally is also up—by about 4.4 cents—since last week. The national average price of gasoline in 2012 was $3.60 a gallon, which was the most expensive annual average on record. The previous annual record was $3.51 a gallon set in 2011, while the third most expensive year for gas prices was 2008, when the average was $3.25 a gallon. While the "fiscal cliff" deal in Washington could pressure gasoline prices higher to begin 2013, it is unlikely that this increase would be on par with a…
