Would you Support a Rails to Trails Project?

Build Our Trail wants you to take a 10 question survey.

The idea of converting the inactive Fox-Chase Newtown Line into a multi-purpose trail has been the topic of discussion for months. To continue the conversation, a local group wants you to take a short survey about it. Build Our Trail, a grassroots organization of residents in Northampton and Upper Southampton Townships who support the conversion, is asking the community to participate in a 10-question survey. Back in September, the Northampton Township Board of Supervisors decided to hold off on pursuing a Rail to Trail project after hearing public comment from residents and people from neighboring communities. People spoke both for and against the idea of a rail to trail project. Learn more about Build Our Trail on their website.

However this is probably false and a complete lying fabrication, given the absence of announcements in newspapers as required by state law, as well as a quick check of the Commonwealth's business registry, which indicates that no such group has been incorporated (nonprofit or otherwise) as of yet. 'Build Our Trail' Group Seeks Non-Profit Status

A local group hoping to convert a portion of the former SEPTA Newtown rail line to a greenway are working towards forming a non-profit.

Recently, members of Build Our Trail gathered to discuss laying the groundwork for turning their group into a non-profit organization. Build Our Trail is focused on converting a portion of the former SEPTA Newtown Rail Line in to a multi-use trail. Last month, representatives of the group appeared before the Northampton Township Board of Supervisors, seeking the support of the board in their endeavor. However, after hearing from a few member of the community who were opposed to the idea, the board decided to table the discussion for a later date.  "They didn't say no, as much as they said we'll talk about it later," said Tom Hibbs, as he led the meeting.  Hibbs said the group was committed as ever to advancing its mission, and the first …
