Daytime Burglary on Rick Road

Police said the burglar forced open the rear door of the home.

The following information was supplied by the Upper Southampton Police Department: Retail Theft Giant Food Store, 466 Second Street Pike Tuesday, March 5, 5:30 p.m. A 50-year-old Richboro man was cited for retail theft at the Giant Food Store.    Burglary 400 Block of Rick Road Wednesday, March 6, Sometime between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Police report a burglar forced open the rear door of a home on Rick Road Wednesday. The homeowner said jewelry was missing from the home. Unknown value of loss.

Sketch Released of Man Wanted for Huntingdon Valley Home Invasion

Lower Moreland Police say similar incidents have been reported in neighboring townships, including Upper Southampton.

The Lower Moreland Police Department has released a sketch of the individual wanted in a recent home invasion in Huntingdon Valley.  The incident was the latest of a string of home robberies that have occurred in Lower Moreland. But according to the police, this kind of activity is happening in many townships across Bucks and Montgomery Counties.   “We’ve seen an equivalent number of robberies here than in other townships,” Lower Moreland Police Det./Sgt. John MacDonald said. “Upper Moreland, Abington, Upper Southampton, Warminster... everyone is seeing the same kind of activity.” In the latest incident, a man posed as an employee of the Water Department. Police Respond to Miller Drive for Report of Suspicious Man

Police Chief Ron MacPherson said if someone knocks on your door to solicit business, always ask to see a permit.

Neighbors in the area of Miller Drive and Williams Drive called police Tuesday evening to report "a suspicious man knocking on doors." The man had reportedly been seen wandering aimlessly through the neighborhood for several hours, knocking on the doors of various residences. One resident told Patch of his experience with the individual: "It was strange. He knocked, I answered, and then when I asked him what he wanted, he really didn't seem to know. I felt like the entire time he was talking to me he was looking past me, eyeing up the contents of my house." Con Man Steals Car, Money & Cordless Phone

He then convinced her to allow him to borrow her car to retreive a spare key to his parent's condo.   The following information was supplied by the Upper Southampton Police Department:   Burglary Unit block of Fairhill Road Sometime between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday, July 9 Homeowner discovered someone broke into their home through a kitchen window and stole an unknown amount of jewelry.    Fraud 400 block of Jefferson Drive Monday, July 9 A resident recieved a check for winning a sweepstakes. They were told to cash the check and send a lesser amount on to cover the cost of processing the winnings. The check was counterfeit and the resident did not send any money after being advised that this was a scam.

'Fence' for Goods Stolen from Southampton Residents Sentenced

A pawn shop owner who purchased stolen goods from two men who allegedly committed more than 50 burglaries across Montgomery, Bucks and Philadelphia counties was sentenced to court supervision.

The following information was supplied by the Upper Southampton Police Department:   Property Damage Dunkin Donuts, 554 Second Street Pike Monday, May 4, 7:30 p.m. A boy rode his bicycle into the front window of Dunkin Donuts near the entrance, shattering the window. The damage is estimated at $500. The youth rode away from the scene before police arrived.   Vandalism to Vehicles 400 block of Cold Spring Road Wednesday, May 6, 3:34 a.m. Residents heard noise and looked out the window to see three females squirting mustard, chocolate syrup, lotion and powder on a 1997 Pontiac Firebird and a 2012 Ford Focus, causing an estimated $200 in damages. The following information was supplied by the Upper Southampton Police Department: Burglary 500 block of Andrew Drive Thursday, Feb. 16, 9:30 a.m. A neighbor pet sitting for a resident who was on vacation discovered that someone had broke in through the garage and made a report to the police. Unknown if anything was missing from the residence.   Burglary 1400 block of Street Road Thursday, Feb. 16 A resident returned home from a two-week trip to discover their front door had been forced open and their home had been burglarized. Jewelry was reported missing.
