Klinger Cheerleaders Take Top Prize in Regional Competition

In addition to taking first place, the squad was awarded the highest overall score at the competition.

The Klinger Middle School Cheerleaders were awarded top prize at the Lower Bucks Cheerleading League Competition held at Morrisville High School earlier this month. The girls placed first in the competition and were awarded the highest score overall. "Its a big accomplishment for them and we are very proud," said Coach Jamie Chase. "They worked very hard."  The cheerleaders performed a combination of partner stunts, pyramids, a cheer, tumbling and a dance, according to the school's website.

Tennent Tops District 1 Cheer Competition

Both the Varsity and JV squads swept their respective divisions.

The William Tennent High School Varsity Cheerleaders ended their season by taking first place in the District 1 Cheerleading Competition. The Competition was held at William Tennent High School Sunday. The team beat out 19 other squads to earn the title of Grand Champions with a leading score of 162.5, which was 14 points above the next highest score. Wood Cheerleading Kicks it up for State Champs

The Archbishop Wood Cheerleading team is riding high on its way to compete in the PIAA's first state championship competition for the sport.

After years of watching from the sidelines as the football team plowed its way through the competition for championship glory, the Archbishop Wood cheerleading team will finally have chance to add a state trophy to the high school's shelves. The Vikings' cheer squad will compete with more than 90 other teams, including Philadelphia Caholic League rivals Lansdale Catholic and Archbishop Ryan, in the inaugural PIAA Competitive Spirit Championship at Hershey Park Stadium on Saturday.  "We're so glad that the league has finally recognized cheerleading as a sport," said Jackie Britton, head coach of the team. Britton has spent the past couple years building up the team from just a sideline show to a regular finalist in national competitions. …

Cheerleading Accepting Registration for Season

Girls between the ages of 4 and 15 are welcome to register.

Southampton Knights Cheerleading is accepting registration for the 2012 season. This year, the squads feature new coaches, "some great ideas and a lot of fun," the organization states on it's website. Girls between the ages of 4 and 15 can register. Registration cost $100 per a cheerleader. If interested, stop in the Community Center Wednesday between 7 and 8 p.m. until April 25. Also, a registration form can picked up online and mailed in. Special registration session will also be held at the Community Center on the following Saturday's:
