Alleged Drunk Driver Wanted on Warrant, Cops Say

The driver involved in a crash on Street Road Saturday morning was also wanted on an outstanding warrant, according to Upper Southampton Police.

The following information was supplied by the Upper Southampton Police Department: Arrest Second Street Pike and Street Road Saturday, Feb. 9, 9:19 a.m. A 28-year-old Warrington woman was arrested and charged with DUI following a minor accident Saturday.  Police said the driver was found to be wanted by the Bucks County Sheriff's Office on an outstanding bench warrant.  Citation 200 block of Charles Street Sunday, Feb. 10, 5:37 p.m. A 25-year-old Philadelphia man was cited for disorderly conduct. Fraud 1200 block of Whitney Road Monday, Feb. 11. A resident reported someone had attempted to make unauthorized purchases with their Wells Fargo credit card online. The bank allerted the card holder and the transactions were stopped.

Should Drawing on the Sidewalk be a Criminal Offense?

Doylestown police cited teens for drawing on the street with white chalk. Is this good policing, or police going too far?

Doylestown police cited two teenagers this week for drawing on a street with chalk. What they were drawing was not the issue, police said, but when and where they were caught. "They were doing it at midnight, in the middle of the street," Doylestown Borough Police Chief Jim Donnelly said Thursday. "And, we’ve had several instances of vandalism with the offenders using chalk." The teens were using white chalk. On the surface, this seems almost ridiculous, but it follows an approach to policing called the Broken Window Theory. The idea is that if police pursue petty crimes, such as vandalism, it eventually reduces bigger crimes. If they got hit by a dui people would complain the cops didn't do anything. End of the day they should be home at midnight not outside. If the parents were being parents the kids would've been home and in bed the cops wouldn't have the chance for a goofy citation. You should realize if the police are bored thats a GOOD thing.   more ›

The following information was provided by the Upper Southampton Police Department:   Theft 1400 block of Beaver Rd. Between Friday July 1 and Saturday July 2, overnight  Resident of the 1400 block of Beaver Rd. reports that someone took several items left outside for sale sometime overnight 7/1/11 to 7/2/11. Items taken include bicycle rack, weights and fireplace irons.   Criminal Mischief 100 block of Waverly Rd. Between Tuesday, July 5 and Thursday, July 7 Resident of the 100 block of Waverly Rd. reported to police that someone had smashed out the front window of their home sometime between 7/5/11 and 7/7/11.
