Citgo Employee Chases Armed Robber

A man is on the loose after getting away with close to $700 from the Citgo Gas Station on Huntingdon Pike.

The Lower Moreland Police Department confirmed that nobody was hurt during the armed robbery at the Huntingdon Valley Citgo Gas Station Saturday night. However, police did say the robber got away with $670 in cash and the crime is still under investigation. A Citgo employee who wished to remain anonymous told Patch the burglar arrived at the store around 9 p.m. The employee was counting money from the PowerBall lottery sales. "There was a lot of cash. I saw [the robber] enter with a mask; I said, 'I'm done.' He said, 'Give me all the money,' and he pointed to the gun. He said 'give me all the bills, too.'" Armed Robbery Probed at Huntingdon Valley Citgo Station

Police were seen searching the area surrounding the gas station with flashlights at 11:20 p.m. Saturday.

The CITGO gas station at the corner of Huntingdon Pike and Byberry Roads in Lower Moreland Township was robbed just after 10 p.m. this evening, according to multiple sources.    Montco Alerts tweeted that police are searching for a 20 to 25-year-old white male who is approximately 5-foot-8 and of medium build with a goatee. Earlier scanner reports said that at time of the incident the robber was wearing a black mask with a white hoodie, blue jeans and had a black semi-automatic handgun.  Check back for updates as Patch follows this developing story.
