Find the Best Cyber Monday Deals: Walmart, Target, Amazon, Kohl's

Are you gearing up to let your fingers do the walking on Cyber Monday?

Southampton residents who didn’t want to brave the crowds on Black Friday or Small Business Saturday still have one more big chance to save courtesy of Cyber Monday. Similar to the two other major shopping events, Cyber Monday differs in that consumers don’t have to leave the comfort of their own homes (or offices) to take advantage of some pretty big pre-holiday deals. All the bargains laid out for Cyber Monday are for online shoppers only. So how can you find the best deals online this Cyber Monday? While most major retailers that have an online presence aren’t tipping their hats on their online deals just yet, many have splash pages set up that they're inviting shoppers to bookmark in advance of the Nov. 26 shopping holiday. Here are …

FBI: Beware of Cyber Monday … and Beyond

Though the Internet is a great place for sales on Cyber Monday, the FBI warns there are also a lot of scams.

At this time of year, the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) reminds consumers to be wary of Internet fraud during the holiday shopping season. Here are a few of the scams to look out for: In addition to more information on specific Internet scams, IC3’s latest warning also includes tips to help you avoid being a victim of cyber scams (#1 tip: if it looks too good to be true, it probably is).

POLL: When Do You Start Holiday Shopping?

Patch wants to know when you start to shop for the holidays.

It seems the last trick-or-treater had barely left the driveway when local retailers rolled out all of their Christmas items. Santa has set up shop for photos at several locations around the area, and many local retailers are advertising holiday and Black Friday sales and deals. Even though Thanksgiving isn't until next week, the holiday shopping is well underway.  What do you think about all of this holiday madness? Is now the perfect time to start your holiday shopping? Or do you wait a few weeks?  Are you planning wait in line for stores to open on Black Friday? Or do you wait for the sales on Cyber Monday?   Vote in the below poll and explain your reasoning in the comment section.

Shop from Home this Cyber Monday

Shop from the comfort of your home, but beware of scams this Cyber Monday, Nov. 28.

So the bargains and craziness of Black Friday weren't for you? (Or maybe you aren't finished shopping yet.) Luckily, there are the more relaxing and convenient Cyber Monday sales for the rest of your holiday shopping needs. Monday, Nov. 28, is the day dedicated to online deals. But before you start entering your credit card information on just any website, be sure that you're prepared for online crimes. The FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center recently released information helping online shoppers from falling victim to Internet crimes. Scammers are becoming more creative and use several techniques to fool online shoppers, according to the FBI. For example, fraudulent or stolen gift cards are being sold at reduced prices through auction …
