The Southampton Free Library is currently accepting donations for its annual book sale. You can drop off your used hard and soft back books, magazines, cd's, and audio and video cassettes at the library. The sale begins Saturday. All proceeds benefit the library.

Are you buying a new winter jacket? Do you have clothes, blankets and other like-new items that aren't being used? Are your kids getting new toys to replace their slightly used ones? If you have items you’d like to toss but aren’t sure what to do with them, a number of collections are taking place in Northampton Township and items can be dropped off at area churches and thrift stores. Cub Scouts Pack 144, OLGC CYO, and Men of OLGC recently organized and conducted a Pasta & Soup Food Drive to benefit the Southampton Food Bank at Jesus Focus Ministry. On Monday evening, over 30 volunteers helped to deliver and shelve approximately 555 pounds of Pasta and 533 pounds of Soup. The group also donated more than $1000 in Giant Gift Cards, purchased with money that was collected during the drive. Collections of canned goods and other non-perishable goods will continue at the monthly Family Mass held the third Sunday of every month in the downstairs OLGC Church at 10 a.m. Other donations can be left in the back vestibule at the Church.

The Centennial Education Foundation (CEF) announced it has received three grant awards totaling $34,500 as part of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. Members of the CEF presented to the school board Tuesday night a check for $27,600 from those funds to benefit the school district's math enrichment program. The funding was provided by grants from Hatboro Federal Savings for $30,000, $2,500 from Giant Food Stores and $2,000 from Fulton Bank. This Thanksgiving season, Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish is trying to help local families that are in need. The church's youth program will be collecting food as part of its 12th Annual Turkey Drive and distributing them to needy families. Organizers have requested donations of frozen turkeys, vegetables, canned goods, stuffing, desserts, and all the fixings needed for a holiday dinner. If you are donating a turkey, the volunteers ask that you double bag it – place it in two plastic shopping bags. Those who wish to donate can drop their contribution off in the parking lot of the Citizens Bank in the Davisville Shopping Center Sunday between noon and 1 p.m. Monetary donations will also accepted and greatly appreciated. Representatives from the Centennial School District are reaching out to the public asking for donations to benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Anybody interested in giving away warm, gently used clothing and winter coats should bring the items to any of the district's three elementary schools: Willow Dale, McDonald or Davis.

Jesus Focus Ministry's emergency food pantry collects and distributes food and supplies to those in need around the community.
The food pantry at Jesus Focus Ministry is running low and has put out a call for donations. "You could be donating to your friend or neighbor that may be too ashamed to tell you," read a recent announcement by the pantry staff on Patch. Donations can be dropped off at the ministry's office located on Bristol Road. Some suggested items for donation are: milk, eggs, breads, chicken, canned soups, peanut butter, rice, potato buds, tuna fish, beans, pancakes, dry milk, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, salt, sugar, flour, tooth paste, shampoo, pain medication, soaps and deserts. After drawing a large crowd for its grand opening April 21, the Feasterville Impact Thrift Store location is now accepting donations. The Southampton Railroad Station Society looks for ways to raise money to fund its restoration efforts for the local train station building.
The Southampton Railroad Station Society continues to make efforts to refurbish the local historical train station building. The Society has experienced a slow start to the work that needs to be done, however the group stabilized the building to prevent further deterioration. Board Member, Jon Frey is currently working to refurbish the platform lights. The Society is getting electrical service put back into the station, a piece of the overall project that is slated to be finished by Thanksgiving. They replaced the main door and will continue to fix the structure as funds will allow.
