Shady Brook Farm Light Show is Open for the Season

The annual light extravaganza opens at twilight tonight. It runs until Jan. 6.

It's official. The holidays are here and Shady Brook Farm is ready for the festivities. The area's most extravagant light show opens tonight at twilight. Shady Brook Farm's 18th annual light show features acres of holiday light displays that you can see from your car or on a carriage ride. The holiday light show will be open from dusk until 10 p.m. through Jan. 6. The cost to drive through is $20 per car Monday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, it's $25. Horse-drawn wagon rides are offered Thursday through Sunday and are $12 per person. International Talk Like a Pirate Day, falling annually on Sept. 19, is one of the most spirited internet-based holidays out there, where you can really let the Captain Morgan, parrot, and peg leg jokes fly. Parks & Rec Proposes Playground for Veterans' Field

Members of the Upper Southampton Parks and Recreation Board will present its proposal for a new playground at Veterans' Field to township supervisors Tuesday evening.

A new playground could be soon be in place at Veterans' Field. The Upper Southampton Park and Recreation Board has been busy hammering out the details of the playground for months, and now the last step is to seek the approval of the township's board of supervisors. "We have to have any large purchase approved by the board," said Park and Recreation Board Chairperson Pat Myers. "They have to approve the bill." If all goes according to plan, the playground will be placed to the left of the new concession stand/restroom/storage building at the field, between the building and the parking lot.
