Firewood For Sale on Cushmore Road

When it is this cold outside, what could be better than sitting in front of a nice warm fire?

This past week our fireplace has been working overtime. If that is the case in your house too, you may burning through your winter wood supply a little faster than originally expected. Fear not. A neighbor on the 300 block of Cushmore Road has got you covered. You can purchase firewood from the rack by the curb in front of their house, any time of day. It's simple — the operation works on the honor system – just load the wood into your car or truck and leave $15 in the mailbox.  Interested? Take Second Street Pike to Madison Avenue and then make a left on Cushmore. You will see the rack on the left hand side of the road.

Don't Get Burned When Buying Firewood

The Bucks County Office of Consumer Protection offers advice on buying firewood.

Q. What do I need to know about purchasing firewood for my home this season? D.A Upper Black Eddy, PA A. This is the time of year when lots of folks call The Bucks County Weights and Measures Office about firewood.  If consumers intend to use the wood to burn this season, make sure the purchase is seasoned firewood.  If you plan on using the wood for the following winter you can buy green wood and cut and split it and allow it dry out. *Please note that currently there are restrictions concerning the movement of hardwood firewood. This is under order of quarantine because of an invasive disease named the Thousand Canker’s Disease.*  For more information on the 2012 quarantine please visit the following website: www.agriculture.state.pa.us …
