Weather Service Issues Freeze Warning

Sensitive vegetation could be damaged.

The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for the surrounding area including Bucks and Montgomery counties. The warning is in effect from 2-8 a.m. Saturday. A freeze warning indicates that sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. Low temperatures, mainly in the upper 20s and lower 30s from late tonight into early Saturday morning. According to the weather service, flowering fruit trees and other sensitive vegetation will suffer damage if not protected. Here’s the local forecast: Tonight: Clear, with a low around 36. Northwest wind 15 to 18 mph decreasing to between 6 and 9 mph. Saturday: A slight chance of rain after 2 p.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 58. West wind between 7 and 11 mph. Chance of …

Weather Service Issues Flood Watch

Rainfall is expected to total between 2 and 3.5 inches.

The National Weather Service issued a flood watch on Sunday for the surrounding area including Bucks and Montgomery counties. The watch is in effect from 8 a.m. through late Sunday night. Heavy rain is expected to fall across the region starting in the afternoon and continuing into Monday. Rainfall is expected to total between 2 and 3.5 inches. Even though we have been very dry lately, this much rain could result in flooding of small rivers and quick-responding streams such as the Neshaminy Creek in Bucks County. A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. Weather Service Issues Fire Watch, Red Flag Warning

High winds, low humidity create explosive fire growth potential.

Due to dry conditions and gusty winds, the National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a red flag warning and a fire weather watch for parts of New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania including Bucks and Montgomery counties. The red flag warning remains in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and fire weather watch will be in effect from Sunday morning through Sunday evening. Winds will be northwest from 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. The relative humidity 20 to 25 percent. The peak winds and lowest relative humidity levels are expected late morning through early evening both Saturday and Sunday. Fire Threat Today; Frost Threat Tonight

Increased risks for brush fires, and a increased risk of frost overnight.

There is an increased risks of both fire and frost, according to the National Weather Service's Mt. Holly office. This weekend's rain did not bring enough moisture to the area to quell the NWS from issuing a release about the threat of outdoor fires that could occur today. Gusty winds, which are predicted to hit the area this afternoon, and decreasing relative humidity have greatly increased the risk for brush fires from Atlantic City to Doylestown, according to the NWS.  Overall, March was one of the warmest and dries on record for much of the area, PhillyWeather.net reports. Weather Service Issues Wind Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory calling for wind gusts up to 50 m.p.h.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Southampton and the surrounding area including Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. The advisory is in effect until 9 p.m. and calls for sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusting from 45 to 50 mph. NWS said strong wind gusts can knock down tree limbs and possibly some weaker trees, especially with the recent rainfall. Isolated power outages may occur. Winds could also make it difficult to drive high-profile vehicles, especially on bridges and other elevated roadways. Motorists are advised to use extra caution especially those in high profile vehicles. Light-weight outdoor objects such as patio furniture and garbage cans should be secured. Weather Service Issues Flood Watch

The National Weather Service says to monitor the forecast often, as this rain storm has the potential to cause flooding.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for parts Southeastern Pennsylvania., including Southampton. The Flood watch is in effect until midnight Tuesday. The weather service expects heavier rain to fall through the evening and says poor drainage and roadway flooding should be expected. Minor Creek Flooding and smaller river flooding is also possible. Weather Service: Flood Watch in Effect

The area is under a flood watch until late tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for several counties in southeastern Pennsylvania, including Bucks and Montgomery counties. The watch is in effect until late tonight, with 1.5 to 3 inches of rain expected to fall before midnight.  According to the release, this could result in small streams flooding, especially in those areas most prone to it. Precautionary measures include driving on roads that do not have poor drainage systems and those located next to small creeks and rivers.

Flash Flood Warning For Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia Counties Extended

The National Weather Service has extended the flash flood warning for Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia and surrounding counties until 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

The National Weather Service has extended the flash flood warning for Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia and surrounding counties until 11:30 a.m. Sunday. At 5:18 a.m. Sunday, the NWS said its Doppler Radar indicated bands of heavy rain from Hurricane Irene continuing to circulate over southern and central New Jersey and southeastern Pennsylvania. The NWS said three to eight inches have already fallen across the warned area and additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches are expected through about midday. With the heavy amount of rain, creeks and rivers in the area pose major flood concerns. In Pennsylvania, NWS said the French Creek at Phoenixville is above flood stage. NWS Issues Tornado Watch For Bucks, Montgomery Counties

Flash Flood Warning Also In Effect Through Sunday Morning

The National Weather Service late Saturday issued a tornado watch for southeastern Bucks and Montgomery counties that remains in effect until 5 a.m. Sunday. The NWS service said a flash flood warning is also in effect through Sunday morning for the region. Check here for more on that. Other surrounding counties affected include northeastern Philadelphia County and northwestern Burlington County. The NWS said the tornado is expected to be near or in Bristol, Burlington, Levittown, Tullytown, Langhorne, Bensalem, Andalusia and Feasterville. The NWS said the warning was issued based on Doppler radar readings indicating that a strong rotation was detected as Hurricane Irene makes its way through the region. It may look like the storms have passed, but the National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Bucks County.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for several Pennsylvania counties, including Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia, lasting until 9 p.m. Tuesday. Southampton is expected to see scattered showers and thunderstorms this evening. The NWS is saying some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Here's a look at the extended forecast: Tonight: Scattered showers and thunderstorms before 11pm, then a slight chance of showers between 11pm and 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68.
