OLGC CYO Makes Breakfast Bags for Shut-Ins

Members of the Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish continue to work to help feed those who are less fortunate.

Approximately fifty members of Our Lady of Good Counsel CYO, along with some parent volunteers, recently gathered in the school gym to assemble "breakfast bags" to benefit Aid for Friends.  Each bag contains:  a juice box, packet of oatmeal, cereal, tea bags, peanut butter crackers and breakfast bars. Aid for Friends will deliver the bags to isolated, homebound individuals that live in the greater Philadelphia area.   In all, over 500 breakfast bags were filled from donations made by the parishoners of OLGC. OLGC CYO also continues to collect food for the Southampton Food Bank housed by Jesus Focus Ministry on Bristol Rd.  Donations are collected at Masses held on the third Sunday of each month.  January's collection netted another 3 boxes…

OLGC 12th Annual Turkey Drive

Our Lady of Good Counsel's youth program will be collecting and distributing food to area families in need.

This Thanksgiving season, Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish is trying to help local families that are in need. The church's youth program will be collecting food as part of its 12th Annual Turkey Drive and distributing them to needy families. Organizers have requested donations of frozen turkeys, vegetables, canned goods, stuffing, desserts, and all the fixings needed for a holiday dinner. If you are donating a turkey, the volunteers ask that you double bag it – place it in two plastic shopping bags. Those who wish to donate can drop their contribution off in the parking lot of the Citizens Bank in the Davisville Shopping Center Sunday between noon and 1 p.m. Monetary donations will also accepted and greatly appreciated.  Please contact …

Meet the Phillie Phanatic at the OLGC Carnival

This year's OLGC carnival will feature three themed days of attractions, along with a visit from everyone's favorite green mascot.

  Our Lady of Good Counsel Church will run its annual carnival Thursday, June 14 through Saturday, June 16. The festivities start Thursday with "German Night," featuring a beer garden with imported German brews. Feast on some favorite German delicacies while enjoying live music by Bill Oust.   Dust off the cowboy boots for Friday, when "Country Music Night" descends upon Southampton. Enjoy all the fixins of a country barbecue —  pulled pork, BBQ Chicken, genuine western baked beans, corn bread and more — while listening to the sounds of The Country Band.  In addition to the usual carnival games and entertainment on Friday, there will also be pony rides for the kids.  Saturday will see the close of the carnival with "Down at the Beach Night…
