This week's adoptable pet comes from the Bucks County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
This week we're trying to find a home for a dog from the SPCA. Cinnamon is a 5-year-old Dachshund who is looking for a loving family. She loves to sit on laps and spend time with people. She is already house trained, so her new owners wouldn't have to spend time cleaning up accidents. The shelter suggests that Cinnamon would fit best in a home with children who are at least 8 years old, so they will understand how to be gentle with the small dog. Cinnamon has gotten along well with the dogs and cats in the shelter, so she would probably be fine with other pets in the house. If you're interested in Cinnamon, or want to learn about other animals the shelter has for adoption, call 215-794-7425 or stop by. The SPCA is located at 1665 Street Rd…

This week's featured adoptable pet is Holly, a Rottweiler mix.
This week's featured pet comes from the Women's Humane Society in Bensalem. Holly is a Rottweiler mix who was surrendered to the shelter with her five puppies after her owner passed away. Holly's puppies have all been adopted, but now it's time for her to find a home. She is a relatively small Rottweiler, weighing only 51 pounds. She is also house broken, so the new owner wouldn't have to spend time training her. Holly is a watch dog and has protective tendencies, but she is a loving dog, according to Kelly VanValkenburgh, the shelter's volunteers manager and adoptions counselor. She's playful and will fit best in a home that has children above the age of 12. To adopt Holly, a donation of $157 is suggested, which includes a fee to have her…

This weeks adoptable pet is a cat named Tigger.
This week's featured pet comes from the Women's Humane Society in Bensalem. Tigger (tag #2383) is a year and a half old, domestic, medium-haired cat who was surrendered to the shelter in the middle of August. He has been declawed and neutered, which makes him appealing for those who don't want to front those medical costs. Additionally, Tigger can be left alone up to 16 hours, in case you work long shifts. He gets along well with other cats, according to Adoptions Counselor Kelly VanValkenburgh, but isn't too friendly with dogs. To adopt Tigger, a donation of $41 is suggested. Additional blood tests, microchipping and other preventative treatments are available, but would increase the adoption amount. If you're interested in Tigger, or …

This week's featured pet comes from the Women's Humane Society in Bensalem.
This week's adoptable pet comes from the Women's Humane Society in Bensalem. Gucci is an Agouti-colored rabbit that was surrendered to the shelter in May when she was 12 weeks old. Gucci is now 6 months old and is the only rabbit from her litter that is still in need of a home. Rabbits from the Women's Humane Society—along with the majority of the animals—are adopted as indoor pets only. When rabbits live outdoors, the subterranean temperature is in the 50s, and can not be replicated in a hutch during Pennsylvania's winter months, according to Kelly VanValkenburgh, the shelter's volunteers manager and adoptions counselor. To adopt Gucci, the shelter asks for a $20 recommended donation fee, and a $90 spay fee if you choose to have the …

This week's featured pet is a lap-friendly dog.
This week's featured pet comes from the Women's Humane Society in Bensalem. Bogo, is a bouncy Jack Russell Terrier who is in need of a home. While Bogo has a lot of energy and enjoys playing, he also loves to sit and snuggle, which is somewhat rare for the breed. The 5-year-old dog would best fit with a family with older children. Bogo was surrendered to the shelter as a stray, and because of that, Adoptions Counselor Kelly VanValkenburgh said they wouldn't risk putting him in a home with children younger than 11. Bogo is considered to be a "senior" since he's over the age of 5, but VanValkenburgh said that because of his size, he could live for 10 more years. If you're interested in Bogo, or want to learn about other animals the shelter …

This week's featured pet is a domestic short-hair cat named Milily.
This week's featured pet comes from the Women's Humane Society in Bensalem. Milily—pronounced my-lily—is best described as a lap cat and is in need of a new family. She will do best in a home with no other pets, because she did not get a long with the other cats in her previous home. Milily is about 1 and a half years old and is a domestic short-hair cat. She isn't currently declawed or spayed, but she will be spayed before going home with her new family. The donation cost for Milily, which includes the spaying procedure, is $106. Microchipping and other medical testing and services are also available. If you're interested in Milily (tag number 1963), or want to learn about other animals the shelter has for adoption, visit the website for …

Meet Wiley, an independent dog who loves to be outside.
This week's featured pet comes from the Women's Humane Society in Bensalem. Wiley is a 3- or 4-year-old Australian Cattle Dog that loves the outdoors. Since arriving at the shelter last February, Wiley has demonstrated independence, according to Kelly VanValkenburgh, volunteers manager and adoptions counselor at the Women's Humane Society. Because of his independent nature, the shelter is considering him an outdoor pet. The 56 pound pup needs ample room outside to exercise and enough space for an outdoor shelter. Wiley would best fit with a family that has children over the age of 11 and no other pets. He is neutered, so the adoptive family would not have to front those costs. If you're interested in Wiley (tag number 273), or want to …

The Bucks County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is looking for a new home for Ace and Spade, two playful ferrets.
Each week Patch will feature an animal from the SPCA that needs a home. In addition to kittens and dogs, the Bucks County SPCA also has small animals, such as rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets. Ace and Spade are two male ferrets that came to the shelter as strays. They have short sable and white colored hair. Both ferrets are neutered, and would make a great pet for someone who isn't ready for a large pet. The shelter would prefer to have someone adopt Ace and Spade together since they spend all day playing and chasing each other around, but they would split them up if it was preferred. If you're interested in the ferrets, or want to learn about other animals the shelter has for adoption, call 215-794-7425 or stop by. The SPCA is located at…
