Board Selects Wallin as Chairman

Supervisors Marguerite Genesio and Stephen Wallin and Township Auditor Gerald Crandley were sworn in Tuesday evening; the board also named its officers for 2012.

The Upper Southampton Township Board of Supervisors selected Stephen Wallin to serve as board chairman at a reorganization meeting Tuesday. Keith Froggatt was selected to serve as Vice Chairman, Walter Stevens as Secretary/Treasurer and Marguerite Genesio as Assistant Secretary/Treasurer. At the start of the meeting, exiting Board Chairwoman Lola Biuckians expressed her desire to step down from an holding office, citing a term limit tradition in the township as well as familial obligations.  Biuckians served as board chair for the past two years. Supervisors Reorganization Meeting Preview

The Upper Southampton Township Board of Supervisors will hold its first meeting of the new year Tuesday evening.

The Upper Southampton Township Board of Supervisors will meet this evening at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room in the basement of the library. Note that this meeting time is one hour earlier than the board's usual meeting time. Officials said this time is to accommodate the schedule of the district justice who will swear in Supervisors Marguerite Genesio and Stephen Wallin and Township Auditor Gerald Crandley.  According to the agenda, the board also plans to elect officers and to set the meeting dates and times for the upcoming year. Three-peat for Pollock as School Board President

An executive cabinet was named and five board members, three new and two returning, were sworn in during the Centennial School Board of Directors annual reorganization meeting Monday evening.

Region Two Representative Andrew Pollock was once again named president of the Centennial School Board of Directors during the board's annual reorganization meeting. Pollock, who has held the board's chief executive cabinet position since 2010, was narrowly re-elected to the post in a 5-4 vote. Besides a vote from himself, Pollock received the support of long-time Board Members Betty Huf and Jane Schrader-Lynch as well as votes from freshman Board Members Steven Adams and Charles Kleinschmidt. The remaining four members of the board voted in favor of Region Three Representative Michael Hartline taking over as board president. Zoning Board Reschedules Hearing

The Zoning Hearing Board met Wednesday evening but they only heard one of the matters on their agenda.

Upper Southampton Township’s Zoning Hearing Board met for their annual reorganization meeting Wednesday evening. The board elected to hold the same leadership as the previous year, with William Cummings to serve as the board chairman, Fred Koelble as vice chairman, Fred Whitlock as secretary and John Torrente to serve as the board’s solicitor. The board was scheduled to hear two matters following their reorganization but announced the hearing on one of the previously advertised matters would be postponed. Board Chairman William Cummings said the attorney in the Briggs matter requested a continuance due to illness. New Year, Same Township Government

Township supervisors agree to retain the same structure as in 2010.

Upper Southampton Township's Board of Supervisors elected to maintain the status quo at a very brief reorganization meeting Monday evening. During the 20-minute meeting, supervisors unanimously voted for Chairwoman Lola Biuckians, Vice-Chairwoman Marguerite Genesio, Secretary/Treasurer Walter Stevens and Assistant Secretary/Treasurer Stephen Wallin all to retain their current posts for 2011. The board also reappointed Township Solicitor Donald Williams and the firm of Tri-State Engineers and Land Surveyors, Inc as the township's engineer.
