Share your snow pics as winter storm Khan brings winter weather to Southampton.
Snow showers courtesy of winter storm Khan have hit the Southampton area, and a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued, according to the National Weather Service. A Winter Weather Advisory will remain in effect until 1 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, according to the weather service. An expected 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected to accumulate. Be careful during your evening commute, the weather service warns, as slick travel conditions will develop quickly. "Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities," the Weather Advisory states. "Use extra caution while driving. Drive at a slower speed and use extra caution." Snow will continue to fall until midnight, the National Weather Service predicts, and the temperature will fall to a low …

Winter's making a prolonged appearance this week...and it could snow more than once before the week is out.
The incoming cold regime will bring some rather cold temperatures by Philadelphia standards to our region ― highs on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday may not break 30 degrees as we get in the grip of some pretty cold air across the eastern half of the nation. This cold has been largely in the Great Basin so far this month ― parts of Nevada are running more than twenty degrees below normal! Temperatures here won't be that cold, but could go down to ten degrees colder than average over the coming week. Along with the incoming cold, light snow and flurries could cross the region later on Monday with a weak clipper and also on Wednesday with a relatively weak disturbance. Monday's system may be more substantive than Wednesday's but either …

Before you fret and wonder if this is the beginning of a long, cold winter of discontent, November is not necessarily a harbinger of what winter will bring. Several cold Novembers have been followed by warm winters (2007, 1997, 1996 to name three over the last couple of decades). This November will close on the same chilled note on which it began, as temperatures for the balance of the month will average out a few degrees below normal. Included in that chill this week is the potential for some light snow on Tuesday. At this point, it looks likely that precipitation…
The National Weather Service has issued hazardous weather outlook for tonight and into Tuesday.
A slippery morning commute may be in order Tuesday, as the National Weather Service is predicting about an inch of snow accumilation overnight across Bucks and Montgomery Counties. NWS recently issued a 'Hazardous Weather Outlook" that said an additional inch or so could accumulate Tuesday, possibly mixed with rain. Any remaining snow will probably be washed away by afternoon rain. Here's a look at the NWS' extended forecast for Southampton:

All buildings will be closed this evening except for the Administration building. And unless otherwise notified, the Operations Committee Meeting scheduled for this evening will be held. The district will not be providing late bus service.
