Members of the Southampton Fire Company were among those who responded to the blaze at the popular Feasterville attraction Wednesday afternoon.
It took only minutes for flames to destroy a wooden structure that housed two haunted attractions at the Valley of Fear in the Feasterville section of Lower Southampton Wednesday afternoon. Robert Walter, public information officer with the Feasterville Fire Company, reported one firefighter was taken to the hospital for a burn to their hand and a second was transported by ambulance for a respiratory issue. Several responders were treated at the scene for heat related issues. Air temperatures at the scene were estimated to be over 100 degrees, an official told Patch. Members of the Southampton Fire Co. helped cover the call for Warminster crews, who were busy responding to another call.
An underground transformer fire at the Jefferson on the Creek apartment complex drew engines from surrounding municipalities Wednesday evening Departments from Hatboro, Upper Southampton, Warrington and Willow Grove answered the call tht went out at 7:14 pm. According to Warminster Fire Chief Mitch Shapiro, the blaze could not be extinguished until PECO cut the power to the transformer. After a service truck arrived at 7:30 p.m., the fire was smothered with dry chemicals and under control within ten minutes, Shapiro said. The fire burnt some bricks on the side of building 300, but none of the interior units were damaged and no injuries were reported. A man and woman died after the wreck at Street Road and Knowles Avenue Saturday evening.

The Southampton Fire Company opened it's doors to members of the community last night.
In recognition of National Fire Prevention Week, the Southampton Fire Company held it's annual Fire Prevention Night at its station on Street Road. This annual event promotes fire safety and what to do if fire strikes, Upper Southampton Fire Marshal and volunteer firefighter Mark Showmaker said. Fire Chief Glenn McKenney said Fire Prevention Night is a very effective tool to prevent and stop fires. Several years ago, the fire company responded to a stove fire and when they arrived they found the family had already extinguished the small fire. A shurb outside a James Way manufacturing facility caught fire and spread into the roof Tuesday afternoon.
A small fire at M & C Specialties on James Way was put out quickly Tuesday afternoon, only causing minor damage, fire officials said. Firefighters arrived at the scene shortly after the flames were reported at 1:16 p.m. They extingished the fire, which started in some shurbs and spread into the roof, said Southampton Fire Company Chief Glenn McKenney. McKenney also said a few of the building's employees, armed with fire extigishers, had knocked out most of the flames by the time fire crews had arrived.
