The cups will be cleaned with boiling water at each refill and customers will get $0.10 off their coffee when they reuse.
Starbucks is introducing an affordable way for its customers to reduce waste. The Huffington Post reports that starting today, Starbucks will offer $1 reusable cups. Customers who use the cups, which look like the standard paper cups with the Starbucks logo, will get a dime off their beverage. The cups will be cleaned in boiling water by Starbucks staff each time they are brought in for use. According to its website, Starbucks has a goal to serve five percent of beverages in personal reusable tumblers by 2015.

To celebrate National Poetry Month, a class of fourth grade students held a poetry reading at the Southampton Starbucks, featuring works by some of their favorite poets as well as some original works of their own.
Students from Stephanie Badulak's class congregated at the Southampton Starbucks to honor National Poetry Month. Nineteen of "The Great 8's" (their classroom number being 8) participated in the reading Thursday evening, each student reading at least one poem he or she had written and one by a favorite author. A large crowd of parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, and innocent bystanders turned out and were awed by the students' literary prowess.

In celebration of National Poetry Month, a group of fourth-grade students will hold a poetry reading at the end of April.

We learn about rhyme, rhythm, and all those things.” Each student that participates in the event will be reading two poems – one written by themselves and another by a favorite, published poet. It’s a great way for a ten-year-old to dip his or her feet …
