New Year's Day pushes trash collection back to Saturday again this week.
There will be no trash collection across the township on Friday due to the holiday on New Year's Day. According to the holiday collection schedule, all trash and recyclables will be collected on Saturday, January 5. Upper Southampton Township's trash and recycling will be picked up on Saturday this week, due to the Christmas holiday.
There will be no trash collection across the township on Friday, due to the Christmas holiday. According to the holiday collection schedule, all trash and recyclables will be collected on Saturday, Dec. 29. Trash and recycling pick up moves to Saturday this week, to account for the holiday.
There will be no trash collection across the township on Friday due to the Thanksgiving holiday. According to the holiday collection schedule, all trash and recyclables will be collected on Saturday, November 24. Township officials are hopeful that notices posted in several places, including the township website, will help alleviate some of the confusion experienced earlier this year. Due to Hurricane Sandy, trash will be collected on Saturday.
Cleaning out the fridge after losing power? Don't haul those cans to the curb just yet. Trash will not be collected in the township on Friday. The township recently posted a notice on their website stating trash collection in Southampton has been moved to Saturday, due to the storm.

The Labor Day holiday will push back the scheduled collection of yard waste and trash across the township.
If your planning on cleaning up outside this holiday weekend, you will have an extra day to gather your yard waste and haul it to the curb. Due to the Labor Day holiday, yard waste will not be collected on Monday. Instead, yard waste will be collected on Tuesday, Sept. 4 Labor Day is one of six holidays that affects rubbish collection across the township. Next week's trash collection will also be pushed back. Instead of the usual Friday collection, trash and recyclables will be collected in Upper Southampton Township on Saturday, Sept. 8.

The New York Times recently called a trash-transfer station in Southampton one of several places where pianos go to die.
According to a recent article in the New York Times, it has become more cost effective to trash grandma's upright rather than trying to resell it. Due to new technology that replaces the eighty-eight, and the excessive costs tied to moving the heaviest of instraments, more and more people are chosing to simply send their unwanted pianos to the dump. Upper Southampton Patch grants a one-time reprieve for talking trash on the site.
Trash collection in the township changed to Fridays only, effective May 1. However, it appears several people in township still put their trash out on the curb this morning. A drive through the township Tuesday afternoon showed 4 out of 5 homes had both trash and recyclables in front of their home. So you tell us... did you put your trash out today? Did you get a lot of spring cleaning done this weekend? Well, don't haul all of that trash to the curb just yet. The trash collection schedule for Upper Southampton has changed. Starting today, May 1, residents will only receive trash pickup once per week. Both trash and recyclables will now be collected on Fridays, by separate trucks. Yard waste will be collected on Mondays.
