Veterans' Field Playground Nears Completion

Crews have been working to finish the playground and construction is expected to be completed by Monday.

The completion of the playground at Veterans' Field rounds out the $1M renevation project at the Street Road Complex. Crews have been working to finish the playground and construction is expected to be completed by Monday.  The fence around the field has been installed and the snack stand is open. In fact, the only item left on the punch list for the project is the relocation of the Veterans' Memorial from the corner of Street Road and Second Street Pike to its new home at the field.  Township supervisors voted Tuesday to hold an informal ribbon-cutting ceremony on Veterans' Day (Sunday, Nov. 11) with a larger, more formal ceremony to follow on Memorial Day 2013. The total cost of the playground is approximately $47,000.

She said after all of the animals and frogs were taken to the Churchville Nature Center, everything was removed and the pond was dredged. Then, the drainage …
