After a year of negotiations and more than four months of working under an expired contract, Upper Southampton Township officials and the police collective bargaining unit have agreed to adhere to the results of binding arbitration. Township Manager Joseph Golden said an arbitration hearing was held earlier this month to detail the contractual requests of the township and members of the township police in the collective bargaining unit, according to a story on PhillyBurbs.com. It will be several months before results of the binding arbitration are announced, the story said. State law prohibits police from striking.

While you are finishing up your spring cleaning, don't forget about your medicine cabinet—get rid of all your unused/unwanted/expired prescription medications Saturday during National Drug Take Back Day.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, residents can drop off unwanted prescription medications for safe disposal at various locations. Do you slow down only when you think someone is watching?
Do you obey the speed limit? Are you more likely to when you think someone might be watching? Upper Southampton Police place this speed trailer in select locations around town, to display the speed of drivers passing by compared to the speed limit of the road. Police Chief Ron MacPherson said said the trailer is placed in area where there have been complaints of speeders, as well as random spots about town. "It's a friendly reminder to try and keep drivers in compliance with the law," he said. Where do you think people are most likely to speed in town? Tell us in the comments.
