Board of Elections Resolves Voting Machine Malfunction at Davis

Some voters who reside in Upper Southampton's North 3 voting district were forced to wait a little longer than this morning to cast their ballots, after one of the two voting machines at their polling place malfunctioned.

A voting machine malfunctioned soon after the polls opened Tuesday morning at Davis Elementary School. “There was just a glitch,” said Kevin Kennedy, the judge of elections at the polling location.  “Someone pressed the wrong button and the machine locked up.”  The problem occurred with a machine recording votes for the North 3 district. That region is comprised of voters residing in the northwest portion of Upper Southampton, bordering of both Northampton and Warminster Townships. Kennedy said a representative from the Bucks County Board of Elections was called in to resolve the problem, and the machine was back in service within an hour. Libertarian Party Will Appear on Pennsylvania Ballots

Several Southampton Polling Places Relocated

The Bucks County Board of Elections met Tuesday and voted to move several polling places for the upcoming November election.

Due to the consolidation of the neighborhood schools over the past few years, several of the usual polling places in Southampton have been shuffled about. The county's board of elections announced Tuesday that three polling places in Southampton would be changed for the November election. Those changes are as follows: Residents of Upper Southampton Township East 2, who formerly cast their ballots at Stackpole Elementary School, will now vote at the North and Southampton Reformed Church, 1380 Bristol Road, Churchville. Residents of Upper Southampton Township North 3 and North 4 who were relocated to Klinger Middle School following the closure of the former Davis Elementary School, will now return to the new Davis building to cast their …

Centennial School Board Tables Contract Vote

Board members agreed to delay voting on the proposed contract until some outstanding questions could be answered.

The Centennial School Board unanimously agreed to postpone voting on a new contract for the district's teachers at their meeting Tuesday evening. After stopping the meeting for a brief executive session discussion with representatives from the teacher's union, the board approved a motion to table the  vote in the hopes of having some outstanding questions answered. "In the spirit of ongoing communications between CEA and the board, both sides are taking the time to review the information that was just given to us last night," said Board Member Cyndi Muller.
