Huntingdon Hills Neighbors Weigh the Pros and Cons of Tapping Township Water

Residents accustomed to their well water systems are being asked if they would like to get water from the municipal authority, but some homeowners don’t see the benefits.

Picture this – you purchase a home, tear it to the ground, rebuild your dream home in its place and then invite 26 friends over to help you celebrate with a housewarming party, only to have the power go out. That is what happened to Mike and Marie Netterville when they moved from Philadelphia to their home on Russel Drive just three years ago. "We ate by candlelight," said Marie, remembering the evening. "But we couldn't use the toilets and no one could wash their hands or use the water for anything. It was really quite awful." The problem: the Nettervilles' home is not tied into the public water system.
