Black and White Night Competition Underway at WTHS

Following the academic events, the White Legends are in the lead with a score of 73 to the Black Royals score of 60.

The long-standing tradition that pits classmate against classmate at William Tennent High School is underway.  The academic portion of the school's Black and White Night events kicked off Wednesday. During the Black and White competition, the student body is divided into two teams, based upon the first initial of their last name. The black team is made up of students with the last names A through K while the white team is made up of students with the last names L through Z. The teams compete in various events over the course of three days. The first day consists of academic events, day two is focused on aquatic events and the last night of competition features gym-based events.  This year the Black Royals are taking on the White Legends.  …

Tennent Tops District 1 Cheer Competition

Both the Varsity and JV squads swept their respective divisions.

The William Tennent High School Varsity Cheerleaders ended their season by taking first place in the District 1 Cheerleading Competition. The Competition was held at William Tennent High School Sunday. The team beat out 19 other squads to earn the title of Grand Champions with a leading score of 162.5, which was 14 points above the next highest score. William Tennent Alum School's New Head Football Coach

Bob Rosenberger, an alumnus of William Tennent High School and a member of the WTHS Athletic Hall of Fame, starred as quarterback and defensive back for WTHS from 1988-91.

The Centennial School Board of Directors approved Bob Rosenberger as the new Head Football Coach at William Tennent High School Tuesday evening. Rosenberger returns to his alma mater after spending the last eight years as the Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator at Pennridge High School. Upon accepting the position at Tuesday night's school board meeting, Rosenberger said this is the job he has been working toward his whole career.  "I cannot put into words how excited I am to finally be home," he said. Rosenberger has 11 years of experience as an Assistant Head Coach and 17 years coaching football in different positions. Prior to his tenure at Pennridge High School, Rosenberger was the offensive line coach for WTHS in 1996 and …

'Girls' Night Out' at Tennent Friday

The fourth annual event benefiting the Southampton Free Library will take place in the WTHS cafeteria this Friday evening.

Ladies, it's that time again — time to get together and get your shop on, and all for a good cause! The Southampton Free Library's fourth annual 'Girls' Night Out' will be held this Friday evening in the cafeteria of William Tennent High School from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The event has grown each year it has taken place and this year promises to be no different, with many vendors signed up to participate. The $5 entrance fee includes door prizes and there will be 50/50 raffle tickets for sale. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Southampton Free Library.

Football Coach Wanted for William Tennent High

Interviews for the position will be conducted early next week.

Centennial School District is actively searching for a new head football coach for the William Tennent Panthers.  The district will be conducting interviews for the position early next week.  Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jennifer Cressman said the district has received a number of applicants and has begun to review resumes and credentials of the candidates. She said a committee of administrators, staff members, parents, and students has been assembled to conduct the interview process.   "As a school district, we are aware of the enthusiasm and excitement that surrounds this position," Cressman said in a statement to the press. School Board Names Best Principal of WTHS

Dennis Best, who is currently the principal of Klinger Middle School, was selected to become the next principal of William Tennent High School.

In a last minute addition to the agenda, the Centennial School Board named Dennis Best as the next principal of William Tennent High School at its meeting Tuesday evening.  Best is currently the principal of Klinger Middle School; he will transition into his new role after a successor for his current position is in place.  Barbara Stevenson has been serving as the interim principal at the high school since Eileen Poroszok retired in August 2012. Prior to her retirement, Poroszok took a leave of absence in November 2011. She served as Tennent’s principal for 13 years. 'Meet the Candidate' Forum Cancelled

Centennal announces it will reschedule a town hall forum to meet the candidates for the new high school principal.

Recently, Centennial School District invited the public to attend town hall meeting to meet the two candidates identified in the search for William Tennent High School’s new Principal. However, the district issued the following message via e-alert Wednesday morning: Because of the proximity to the holiday break and low anticipated attendance due to the number of responses, the Town Hall Meeting to meet the candidates for WTHS principal scheduled for Thursday, December 20th has been canceled.  The Centennial Community will be invited to a meeting to be rescheduled in the new year.
