All 16 charges against former William Tennent High School choral director Tyrone Dinkins stemming from accusations of unlawful and inappropriate contact with female students have been upheld by Warminster Magesterial Judge Daniel Finello at a preliminary hearing Friday morning. Unable to post bail, Dinkins has been remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility, where he will await his November 2 arraignment in Doylestown. He was released this morning from prison to attend the hearing, where eight current and former William Tennent students, ranging from ages 16 to 20 years old, testified to encounters with Dinkins that made them feel awkward and uncomfortable. Former William Tennent High School Music Teacher Tyrone Dinkins faces 16 counts of felony and misdemeanor charges that include unlawful contact with a minor and indecent assault.
The preliminary hearing for former William Tennent music teacher Tyrone Dinkins has been moved from August 10 to September 28, 9:15 a.m. at the Warminster district court, according to court documents. Dinkins turned himself over to authorities Tuesday afternoon for arraignment after the Bucks County District Attorney's office issued a warrant for his arrest. According to the affidavit, eight female students ranging in age from 16 to 19 years old accused the high school choral director of inappropriate sexual behavior. Former William Tennent choral director Tyrone Dinkins has been charged with two felony counts of unlawful contact with a minor and several misdemeanor charges of corruption of minors, indecent assault and harassment during an arraignment hearing Tuesday afternoon at the Warminster district court. District Judge Daniel Finello set bail at $800,000, but Dinkins was unable to post a 10 percent bond and has been sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility. If he is able to post bail, Dinkins must stay away from all high school facilities and events and can only be around his three children under adult supervision, per the court's orders. Tyrone Dinkins has been accused of several counts of unlawful contact with eight victims at the high school.
Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler and Warminster Police Chief Michael Murphy have issued an arrest warrant for former William Tennent vocal director Tyrone Dinkins. According to a release, the Warminster Police Department received a complaint of inappropriate contact between a teacher and several students at William Tennent High School. The police department launched an intensive investigation into this complaint, with the full cooperation of the Centennial School District, the release said. Dinkins is charged with multiple counts related to unlawful contact with a minor. These charges stem from incidents which were reported just prior to the end of the school year. The William Tennent Madrigals made their first concert appearance on Aug. 4 during the group's trek through Ireland and the United Kingdom for the London Olympics. The posted video shows the choir kicking off the performance at St. Patrick's Cathedral with "Non Nobis Domine." Anybody interested in following the Madrigals' progress on the trip should check this site out, which has photo slideshows and an updated blog. The group also performed Sunday night at the Royal College of Music in London and at noon today at Canterbury Cathedral. Their final performance is Wednesday at Southwark Cathedral at 3:45 p.m.

The high school's choral group has been selected to perform at several venues in the United Kingdom during the Olympic games.
After more than a year of preparations and fundraising, the William Tennent Madrigal singers take-off tonight from JFK airport to begin their 10-day concert tour through the United Kingdom. The group will perform at several venues as part of a cultural program organized by the Greater London Authority to coincide with the 2012 Olympics. Musicians and artists from all over the world will join the Tennent Madrigals in Great Britain to represent their countries. The trip begins with tomorrow's arrival and a day of sightseeing in Dublin, Ireland. The group's first performance takes place at St. Patrick's Cathedral on Friday, 1 p.m. They travel to Canterbury Saturday night for a concert the next day at the Royal College of Music in London at 5 …

The singers hope the television appearance will drum up more support for their trip to the 2012 Olympics in August.
The most common answer to the age-old question, "How do you get to the Olympics?" has always been "practice." Unfortunately, there's a second answer, "Money." Members of the William Tennent chorus achieved the first part when their audition tape scored an invite to the 2012 Olympics in London. According to the brochure posted on choral director Tyrone Dinkins' teacher page on the Centennial School District web site, the group will arrive in Dublin, Ireland, on August 2 and spend a couple days performing and sightseeing, then travel to London on August 4.
