Good Idea/Bad Idea? Presidential Tears

Are you surprised at my tears, sir? Strong men also cry.

A video of President Barack Obama thanking his campaign staff went viral on Friday. The reason? It featured the reelected president welling up as he reminisced about his humble beginnings in Chicago. After a long, hard-fought campaign — undoubtedly the president's last — it's hard to begrudge the man a few wistful tears. But not everybody thinks Obama is genuine, even in this YouTube video of an unguarded moment in front of close-knit young staffers. We've had a lot of viral moments in this campaign, and as it closes, this one might be the most surprising.  So we put it to you: what do you think of the president's tears?

I disagree Nicole. She is the perfect person for this, because she has stood up to corrupt and evil individuals and won. I have a feeling that Corbett will be quaking in his boots, because one of the first things she will be doing, is investigating why it took so long to arrest Sandusky.   more ›

Mixed Election Results for County Political Parties

The Bucks County Democrats took home the night's biggest prize, but the Republican Committee had its own victories at the polls.

By 11:15 p.m. Tuesday night, the re-election of President Barack Obama was not completely official, but Ann Marie Jordan felt pretty good after seeing the results of one of the major battleground states. "When Fox News called Ohio for Obama, I knew we had it," said Jordan, a volunteer neighborhood team leader for Obama's Bucks County re-election campaign. Not long after, the news networks began making their calls that Obama had earned a second term as Jordan's team of volunteers gathered at their headquarters on Main Street in Doylestown began celebrating the victorious night. "It was the same boots on the ground effort we had in 2008 that helped him win tonight in Pennsylvania and the country," Jordan said. "All of our volunteers worked …

Barack Obama Re-Elected President

President Obama defeats Republican Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential election.

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden were re-elected Tuesday night, defeating Republican challenger Mitt Romney and his vice presidential running mate, U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan. NBC News called the presidential election for Obama around 11:15 EST. The president sent a message on Twitter at 10:14 saying simply, "This happened because of you. Thank you." The Obama campaign won the most expensive presidential race ever, with both parties raising about $2.6 billion. The race was filled with negative campaigning on both sides, from Obama attacking Romney’s business experience with Bain Capital to Romney lambasting Obama’s handling of the economy. The race tightened during the final months of the campaign, with gaffes and surges from …

When Will Presidential Election 2012 Results Be Announced?

Pennsylvania polls close at 8 p.m., but they are open in California until 11 p.m. EST.

So you've cast your ballot, maybe even waited in line if you did so in person as turnout appears to be up around Bucks and Montgomery Counties. But how long will you have to wait to find out who'll be in the White House come January? It might be a late night. California voters have until 8 p.m. Pacific Standard Time to cast their Election 2012 ballots, but voting in other key swing states ends as much as an hour earlier, and exit polling could provide an early clue whether President Obama or Mitt Romney us closer to the White House. The earliest key state to watch is Virginia, where polls close at 7 p.m. Eastern. Voting ends 30 minutes later in the swing states of Ohio and North Carolina. As Michigan's polls close, the swing states of …

Reports of Voter Fraud, Voter ID Challenges, Irregularities Reported in Eastern PA

Election Day brought problems at polls in several areas of eastern Pennsylvania

EASTERN PA — Several reports of voting irregularities in Eastern Pennsylvania emerged on Tuesday, the day of the presidential election. In Easton, signs appeared offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to voter fraud convictions. A constable for Easton’s 10th ward removed one such sign staked into the ground after consulting with an elections attorney on site. The Pennsylvania Commercial Action Network, the same group that posted “Replace ObamaCare” billboards around the state, made the signs. ID Requests Many Easton voters also reported poll workers asking for their IDs, even though IDs are not required for this election cycle under the law. Matthew Keeler, press secretary for the PA Department of State, said that's part of the …

Sweden's workers pay the highest taxes in the world!!! That model wouldn't work here, since only 1/2 U.S. population pay ANY federal tax. Yes, the 47% who avoid federal tax demand much, but you can only squeeze the working class just so much to pay for it all.   more ›
