Thanks to both of you. I was thinking it had to do with the new traffic light timing. Hope they fix it soon.

It's hard to notice until you get very close but a sinkhole formed in the road surface. It appeared to have started in the soil surrounding the metal storm water pipe.

This entrance has been closed for some time now, (I believe at least since the hurricane.) If you look closely, there is a small metal culvert and stream that runs underneath - it's quite possible there are stormwater issues.
