Dr. Ruth Kuchinsky-Smith is a certified school psychologist with a diverse background. In addition to earning her Ph.D from Temple, she also earned a masters in education from that school and a masters in creative arts therapy from Hahnemann University.

In addition to helping craft Pennsylvania's special education curriculum as part of Dick Thornburgh's administration, she's worked on research with Dr. Oliver Sacks, Dr. Judith Kestenberg, Dr. David Thompson, Dr. Irwin Hyman and Dr. Leslie Skinner on areas ranging from infant development to deaf advocacy to psychological abuse in children.

She continues to work as a per diem psychologist in the Philadelphia school system and teaches courses in education and psychology as an adjunct instructor at Holy Family University.

A classically trained musician and vocalist who studied with instructors from both Julliard and the Manhattan School of Music, Kuchinsky-Smith directs children and youth choirs and instrumental ensembles at Lehman Memorial United Methodist Church in Hatboro.

She also is a certified PADI scuba diver and licensed FAA pilot.
