Popular City Kitchen Pizzeria Closes Over Rent Dispute

A week after abruptly closing, the tables remain set and signs advertising holiday specials still adorn the storefront in the .

The restaurant was being sued by the shopping center owner over unpaid rent, according to Bud Kanefsky, manager of the Redwood Shopping Center. Kanefsky would not specify how delinquent City Kitchen was.

Kanefsky said he is in talks with a lawyer on how to proceed with the storefront filled with City Kitchen's equipment.

This weekend, a sign on the front door of the restaurant said, "look for us in the future as we will look forward to seeing you."

By Monday, the sign was replaced with a paper that said, "closed until future notice."

Patch has made several attempts to contact the owners of restaurant but have not heard any response as of press time.
