Lecture: Are Vaccines Safe and Do We Still Need Them?

Holy Redeemer Hospital hosts world-renowned physician Paul A. Offit, MD, chief of infectious diseases at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and inventor of the rotavirus vaccine, which is recommended for universal use in infants by the CDC. The lecture, which focuses on parents’ questions about vaccines, is open to all.

Pertussis, commonly known as whooping cough, has been on the rise in our immediate community and throughout Eastern Montgomery County, NE Philadelphia and Lower Bucks County. Pertussis has been deadly for some infants and for children who are compromised by health issues such as asthma. Learn the importance of vaccines for infants and children in preventing life-threatening illnesses.
