Southampton Community Band Presents March Concert at Klinger

The program begins at 8 p.m. on Saturday and the concert theme is 'Just for Fun.'

The Southampton Community Band will present its third concert of the season at Klinger Middle School on Saturday, March 23.

The program begins at 8 PM and the concert theme is Just for Fun.

"This has been an enjoyable change of pace for the band to practice and hopefully for our audience to hear", said Marvin Feld, the band's director. "A light-hearted program will help to break the winter doldrums. There will also be an opportunity for the audience to participate."

John Hunt, a member of the band, will introduce his instrumental hobby by performing on the saw. Additional selections will include Sandpaper BalletSgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and a collection of "spooky" Halloween themes entitled Band-O-Ween.

Tickets are available at the door. Adult tickets are $15, and tickets for seniors and students are $10.

The band will conclude its season on May 11th with their annual tribute to the military. Serving as guest narrator for that program will be John Philip Sousa IV.
