Alex Sellen, 21, Syracuse Alum, Broadcaster, Died Sunday.

Alex Z. Sellen, a 2009 graduate of William Tennent High School, passed away suddenly July 28 at the age of 21.

Alex Z. Sellen, of Southampton, died suddenly on Sunday, July 28, 2013. He was 21.

Born in Huntingdon Valley, Alex was a life long resident of Southampton. He was the beloved son of John and Roseann Sellen.

Alex was a graduate of William Tennent High School, class of 2009. Alex attended Bucks County Community College and transferred to Syracuse University, Newhouse School of Communication and graduated with his degree in Communications. Presently Alex was doing an Internship with SSPTV, channel 13 in Hazelton Pennsylvania.

He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa at Syracuse University; Alex was an avid tennis player, snow ski enthusiast, sky diver, spelunker (cave explorer) and was part of Project Flipside, a program sponsored by Bucks First Federal Credit Union.

In addition to his parents Alex is survived by his brother’s, John “Nick” Sellen and Casey D. Sellen. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Monroe and Theresa Kimmel and his paternal grandparents Renee and Charlie Podlesny and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Alex’s family will receive condolences on Thursday from 4:00pm until his Words of Remembrances and a time of Sharing at 5:30 pm in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd (at Holland Rd.) in Richboro.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions for a scholarship fund in Alex’s memory may be made to Bucks County Technical High School, 610 Wistar Rd. Fairless Hills PA 19030. Please make checks payable to BCTS FEE.
