Strathmann Drive Closed to Through Traffic

Township officials said the length of roadway between Gravel Hill and Churchville Roads will be closed to motorists until the end of November, as a stormwater culvert is replaced.

Crews are working to replace a crumbling stormwater culvert that runs under Strathmann Drive in the area between Mill Creek Road and Spring View Drive.

Work on the project began earlier this week.  Township Manager Joe Golden said it is anticipated the project will take two months to complete.

Signs are placed at the intersections of Strathmann and Gravel Hill Road as well as Strathmann and Churchville Road, alerting motorists to the closure.

However, there are no barriers placed across the roadway, as for several residents travelling on this thoroughfare is the only way to access their home.

On Friday, several cars could be seen driving up the road, only to be forced to make a U-Turn when they reached the fenced off section of roadway between Mill Creek Road and Spring View Drive.
